Christian Home Healthcare is Hiring a Caregiver Near Latrobe, PA

We are looking for a compassionate caregiver to join our growing team! The right candidate has a can-do attitude, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to provide many levels of support to our clients.

Responsibilities
  • Provide personal hygiene assistance for participants or those recovering from surgeries, injuries or accidents by attending to their basic needs, such as showering, bathing, dressing and eating
  • Assist with ambulation & rehabilitation
  • Remind clients to take prescribed medication 
  • Help with mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks etc.)
  • Assist with personal care and hygiene
  • Plan and prepare meals
  • Complete client’s shopping or accompany them to successfully do so
  • Perform housekeeping duties
  • Report any unusual incidents and act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
  • Provides simple emotional & psychological support to participant &/or other members of the care client
  • Offer activities that are essential for daily living by assisting patients with their meals, including serving and other tasks, if necessary
  • Promotes mental alertness through involvement of activities of interest
  • Encourages independence & improved quality of life
  • Completes a visit report upon initiating & completing participant visitation
  • Attends regular in-services
Qualifications
  • Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting, eager to improve and continuously learn new skills
  • Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without accommodations
  • Valid photo ID & Social Security Card
  • Successful completion of one of the following:
    • Minimum state training requirements
    • Completion of training program developed by Christian Home Healthcare
    • Nursing aid certification & part 2 Christian Home Healthcare institute
  • Successful completion of the following:
    • Must undergo criminal background check & child care clearance
    • Must be free of communicable disease
    • Must undergo physical/health screening
    • Must complete annual TB Testing
    • Must attend in services
  • Reliable transportation every single day
  • Validated ability to act in a compassionate and supportive manner
  • Available to work different shifts, including nights and/or weekends
  • Willingness to enforce health and safety standards
  • Supportive and compassionate
  • High School Diploma or equivalent/Experience as a Caregiver
  • Take pride in providing high quality care
