Christian Community Homes is Hiring a Medication Aide Near Hudson, WI

Qualifications:

  • Certified through WI CBRF as a Medication Aide.
  • High school graduate or equivalent is preferred.
  • Must be able to perform all the requirements of the nursing assistant job description.
  • Must have no performance/attendance issues documented in the past year.
  • Must possess good communication skills and a willingness to work with all team players.
  • Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices.
  • Previous experience in a health care facility is desired.

Essential Job Functions:

Provides routine daily nursing care in accordance with facility and state/federal guidelines.

Specific Job Duties:

  • Maintains an active working relationship with nursing team and ancillary departments.
  • Promotes the concept of customer satisfaction and positive interpersonal relationships.
  • Participates in giving and receiving report from medication aides and nursing assistants.
  • Demonstrates ability to perform nursing assistant duties as assigned.
  • Actively participates in care conferences and scheduled meetings as appropriate.
  • Attends scheduled training seminars and in-services as appropriate.
  • Ensures privacy and resident rights are maintained by the nursing team.
  • Reviews resident aide care sheets on a regular basis
  • Ensures vital signs and weights are completed as scheduled.
  • Performs restorative care and range of motion as instructed
  • Follows work assignments and/or work schedules as assigned
  • Willing to work in other areas across the campus as needed
  • Practices good personal hygiene and facility dress code
  • Assumes added duties as assigned by Charge Nurse and/or supervisor
  • Demonstrates ability to perform nursing assistant duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrates ability to obtain pertinent information regarding residents
  • Demonstrates ability to plan and prioritize actions before starting resident cares
  • Performs procedures to meet individual resident needs for daily hygiene and appearance including, but not limited to, bathing, grooming, shaving, oral cares, and nail care
  • Demonstrates proper techniques of lifting, transferring, and ambulating residents
  • Implements special care needs including incontinence cares, special skin care, catheter care, colostomy care, and turning/positioning techniques
  • Assists and encourages residents to take adequate diet, fluids, and supplements
  • Recognizes physical distress and acts to provide relief for those residents
  • Identifies and reports physical and psychological symptoms or spiritual needs to appropriate staff
  • Allows residents the freedom of choice in details of daily living whenever possible
  • Performs and assists with activities per activity calendar/activity daily sheets
  • Reports any observed physical or verbal abuse to the supervisor immediately
  • Encourages residents to participate in self care as appropriate
  • Assists resident with the application of prosthetics when appropriate
  • Provides diversional activities as appropriate to meet resident needs
  • Demonstrates effective and respectful communication with residents, families, and team members
  • Demonstrates knowledge of, and adheres to, actions to assure resident and staff safety
  • Demonstrates proper infection control procedures and practices
  • Complies with rules and regulations of regulatory and surveying agencies
  • Administers medications/performs treatments per regulations at regulatory and surveying agencies
