High School Math Teacher - The Cornerstone Christian School

Job summary: To strive towards professional excellence when carrying out the duties involved in teaching the Grades 9-12 (and advanced Grade 8) students entrusted to the teacher's care.

Type of position: Contracted full-time position

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instruct Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus
  • Cover study halls, as needed
  • Understand, embrace, and actively work towards the fulfillment of the CCS mission to engage and educate young people to know Christ and be equipped to impact the world for God's Kingdom
  • Be committed to Christian education
  • Instruct from a Christian worldview
  • Be actively engaged in the continuous development of curriculum for one’s assigned grade level
  • Project a positive voice for the school
  • Proactively work in conjunction with the administration
  • Work diligently towards obtaining and maintaining active ACSI certification (initial or renewal)
  • Be actively engaged in ongoing professional development, while staying current on the research and development pertaining to one’s grade level and/or subject matter
  • Be an active learner (serving as a role model for students)
  • View communication with parents as a critical part of one’s job
  • Place students’ needs ahead of one’s own preferences
  • Assess students’ learning through a variety of methods
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs and learning styles of each student
  • Create a warm, engaging, and Christ-centered learning environment within the classroom
