Christian Academy School System is Hiring a Spiritual Formation Director - Indiana Campus Near Louisville, KY

Scope The Spiritual Life Director works with Christian Academy of Indiana middle and high school administration and staff to develop students with a heart for God. He/She will coordinate high school and middle school chapel, coordinate the quarter Bible-study program, regularly counsel students, plan service projects, partner with administration regarding discipline/discipleship, help teachers with biblical integration of their subjects, provide biblically-based education opportunities for parents, and other spiritually-focused activities.

Qualifications

The candidate shall possess characteristics that reflect:

  • A strong clear Christian testimony with a mature and godly spirit
  • A daily example of the highest Christian virtue both in and out of school
  • Commitment to faithful attendance and support of a church whose beliefs are in agreement with the Statement of Faith for Christian Academy School System
  • Agreement and belief that the Bible is the final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind

The ideal candidate shall possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Bible or related area of study
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • 3 years experience working with middle and high school aged children (educational background a plus) 
  • Youth Ministry experience is a plus
  • Experience in counseling students

Responsibilities

The Spiritual Life Director shall:

  • Serve as a resource of spiritual formation for students and their parents
  • Coordinate chapel schedule, speakers, and setup
  • Coordinate Bible studies
  • Plan service projects
  • Provide biblically-based education opportunities for parents and other spiritually-focused activities
  • Maintain communication with staff concerning integration of the Bible into the classroom/school day as needed
  • Build positive relationships with area ministers and churches if needed
  • Plan and coordinate outreach or mission opportunities
  • Serve as a chaperone on school-sponsored mission trips
  • Offer spiritual support to staff as needed

Reporting Relationships The Spiritual Life Director will report to the HS/MS Principal.
