Christ Church is Hiring a Director of Student Ministries (Full Time) Near Rockaway, NJ
Description The role of the Director of Student Ministries is to provide vision, oversight, and leadership to ministries, departments, and programs spanning the age of birth through college. This includes Quest Kids (birth through elementary grades), Special Needs Program, Quest Teens (middle & upper schools), Vacation Bible School, after-school programs, and Quest College Ministry, etc. The purpose of this position is to ensure Christ Church’s vision and goals concerning Quest Student Ministries are executed in a Christ-glorifying way that results in relevant ministry to them throughout their varied stages of growth and development. Skills and Qualifications:
Responsible for providing shepherding for all children, youth and young adults who are members of Christ Church and/or come under the spiritual influence of our church.
Collect, gather and compile vital data to track membership participation in all student ministry programs, even the annual and seasonal ones like Vacation Bible School.
Establish a culturally relevant teaching curriculum that incorporates evangelism, discipleship, relationship enhancement, and leadership development into its offerings.
Provide ongoing training, leadership development and fellowship opportunities for all related staff and volunteer leaders related to student ministries. Establish a community and cohort feel among each of the demographic of student ministry.
Execute the vision and mission of Quest’s Five-Year Strategic Plan for student ministries.
Minimum requirement:
Bachelor’s degree required; master’s preferred.
5-10 years of experience in leading children’s and/or youth ministry, college students, department leaders, student programs, etc.
5-10 years of experience in the field of project development, leadership of all aspects of a business unit, recruiting, training and public speaking.
Skills required:
A strong self-starter who can take initiative and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent interpersonal, writing and proofreading skills.
Ability to lead and manage effectively in a multitask setting.
Ability to present—public speaking.
Represents him/herself well with leaders inside and outside the local church.
Working knowledge and use of MS Office applications.
Working knowledge of MS Outlook and MS Project a plus.
