What You Will Do

Deliver one-on-one care for clients in the home setting, including routine nursing procedures (blood pressure, injections, and vital signs), observation, assessment, medication management, IV therapy, and wound care. Patients requiring home health nursing services can include patients who are chronically ill, disabled, or elderly, individuals recovering from an accident or injury, and the terminally ill. Home Health RNs provide education about diagnosis and the plan of care and listen and respond to patient requests and concerns.

Job Responsibilities

  • Monitor patient’s condition and assess their needs to provide the best possible care and advice
  • Observe and interpret patient’s symptoms and communicate them to physicians
  • Collaborate with physicians and nurses to devise individualized care plans for patients
  • Perform routine procedures (blood pressure measurements, administering injections, etc.) and fill in patients’ charts
  • Adjust and administer patient’s medication and provide treatments according to physician’s orders
  • Inspect the facilities and act to maintain excellent hygiene and safety (decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces, preparing beds, etc.)
  • Provide on-call visits in emergencies
  • Foster, a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families

  • Strong interpersonal skills that allow getting to know your patients, build personal rapport, and establish trust while increasing the patients' comfort
  • Initiative to make independent decisions when required and accept direction and requests from patients
  • Compassion for patients and their families
  • Outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Patient with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility to work in a variety of living environments
  • Knowledge of clinical skills including changing bandages, giving tube feedings, administering shots, and setting up and monitoring IVs
  • Knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures (sanitation, decontamination, etc.) and willingness to follow them at all times

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a registered nurse
  • Driver’s license and reliable, insured, vehicle
  • Valid Ohio nursing license

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $28.86 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
