About the job:

Warm, energetic, and loving individuals who are motivated and capable to teach an incredible group of children. Reliability, consistency and professionalism are they key to a successful work relationship along with true desire to care for children's emotions, their well-being, educational, physical and mental development.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide loving care and caregiving activities
  • Caring for a group of children, changing diapers, potty-training, making sure their physical and emotional needs are taken care of
  • Following a daily routine and encouraging children to participate in various activities
  • Setting up a table for lunch, preparing meals and helping feed the children
  • Cleaning after children which entitles vacuuming, wiping table tops, mopping floors, taking the garbage out, washing dishes, cleaning bathrooms, disinfecting toys, decluttering the classroom and making it appear neat and tidy, etc.
  • Taking children out for a walk, to a local playground or outdoors activity
  • Collaborate with the teachers on lesson plans, projects, activities, etc.
  • Planning weekly curriculum, arts and craft projects, daily educational games and various other activities
  • Keep record of children’s’ developmental milestones and plan individualized activities to support their unique development
  • Communicate daily with parents at drop off/pick up about the child's day and needs.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming classroom environment

o Adhere with teaching standards and safety regulations as established by the school and DCFS.

Qualifications:

o Minimum of Associate or Bachelor’s degree in in ECE/ECD or related field with a minimum of 6 credit hours in ECE/ECD or CDA certification and one year of previous teaching experience

o Food Handler License or willingness to obtain certification

o CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification

o Proof of up to date physical, TB Test, and immunizations

o Background check clearance

o Must be a team player

o Excellent organization skills and communication skills

o Must meet and follow all City and State licensing requirements
