Job Description:

The Radiologist Physician shall provide teleradiology services to multiple medical facilities in New Mexico and Arizona primarily being located in Chinle, AZ. Contracts are for short term with a one-year option to extend. The Radiologist will need to provide response for interpreting images for multiple locations with notification by phone/email/access to approved systems.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Job Classification: Full-Time Contract

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Physician must be able to read required modalities in a timeframe consistent with an industry average.
  • Physician shall perform outpatient and inpatient radiology physician duties and manage the needs of patients.
  • Physician shall interpret all diagnostic imaging examinations (XR, ultrasounds, CT, and MRI) and prepare comprehensive interpretive reports of findings.
  • Units have a requirement for Teleradiology Services to assist Service Units with the interpretation of medical images including X-ray (CR/DR), Computed Axial Tomography (CT), Computed Axial Tomography Angiography (CTA), Mammography (MM), Mammography digital breast Tomosynthesis 3D, Ultrasound (US), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), and Dual Energy x-ray (DEXA).
  • Physician shall perform routine duties such as providing medical care within the community as assigned and take immediate action when there is a significant health risk.
  • Be available by a 1-800 number to provide urgent response to other locations in need of urgent image review. All interpretations shall be performed on MQSA, FDA, TJC, CMS and HIPAA compliant equipment.
  • Shall establish and maintain a QA program consistent with all TJC or CMS requirements including quarterly evaluations of interpretations by every interpreting radiologist.
  • Facilities perform a variety of imaging examinations in support of their clinical activities with all images captured, stored and displayed in DICOM format.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Required: Doctor of Osteopathy or Medicine from a school of Allopathic or Osteopathic Medicine.
  • Required: Be Board Eligible or Board Certified (BE/BC) in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) (not currently in residency training).
  • Required: Graduate of a residency program in Radiology accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education.
  • Required: Must have a minimum of one year of radiology experience in comprehensive radiology services with a minimum of 6 months in specialty no lapse in practice of more than 6 months leading up to assignment.
  • Required: All providers shall possess a current, valid, unrestricted applicable license in a state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States, throughout the term of this contract.
  • Required: Valid and current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
  • Required: Must possess a valid state driver’s license throughout the term of this contract.
  • Required: Must submit 3 professional references.
  • Preferred: Must possess a current, unrestricted DEA license.

Physical Requirements:

  • Work environment involves possible exposure to hazardous materials, such as chemical, blood and blood borne pathogens.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times and be able to bend, lift and pull.
  • This position requires extended periods of being on your feet and prolonged work sitting at a desk operating a computer.
  • At the time of hire, must provide a fitness for duty certificate issued by a licensed physician to perform the proposed job without significant risk to personal health or the health and safety of others.
  • At the time of hire, must provide documentation of evidence of immunizations as required by the facility's immunization policy.

Pre-employment Requirements:

This position may be contingent upon passing a security clearance, criminal background check (state and federal), drug screen, Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review, education verification, employment verification, and/or credit check after acceptance of an offer and prior to beginning work, due to the nature of the services Chloeta provides and the responsibilities of this position.

Drug and Alcohol Testing:

To enforce Chloeta’s Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy, an employee or candidate could be subject to undergoing a drug screen and/or alcohol testing at the beginning of employment, as well as after commencement of employment where there is reasonable suspicion of intoxication, or following an automobile or other accident, or as part of a company or facility-wide random drug screen process.

Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA):

Under the FCRA, Chloeta may request a credit check during the onboarding process. A written authorization form will be required before obtaining credit records.

Emergency Response:

Every Chloeta employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official Duty Station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official Position Description (PD). Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
