CHIP CITY is Hiring a General Manager - Gold Coast Near Chicago, IL

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager for our Chip City retail store. As a General Manager, you will oversee all aspects of day-to-day operations, ensuring exceptional quality, service, and profitability. Your responsibilities will include team management, inventory control, customer relations, and strategic planning. General Managers take on additional human resources duties such as recruiting, interviewing, and hiring new staff. At Chip City, our team is all about being Courteous, Happy, Informative, and Precise.

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage day-to-day operations, including staff scheduling, ordering, inventory management, and customer service.
  • Hire, train, and guide counter staff to ensure excellent performance and adherence to company standards.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to drive business growth and increase revenue.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance, inventory levels, and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming store environment for customers and staff.
  • Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner, striving to exceed customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with the upper management and other store managers to share best practices and contribute to company-wide initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of General/Store Manager experience in the food service industry, preferably in a bakery setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proven track record of driving sales and achieving business targets.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling and sanitation.
  • Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Food Protection Certification preferred or willingness to obtain (where required).
  • Successful completion of on-the-job training.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Must be available on-call to address emergencies and support the team during operational hours. 
  • Ability to navigate a bakery, stockroom, and office spaces, with the capability to lift up to 30 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Capability to work in a commercial oven's high-temperature environment.
  • Ability to withstand extended periods of standing.

Salary Range: $60,000 to $75,000 bonus potential
