POSITION STARTS MID APRIL TO JUNE

Hours : 5:00 am – 10:00 pm. May vary depending on need.

The basic objective of this position is to inspect grade and condition of fruit to the acceptable standards of Chinchiolo Stemilt CA at time of receiving.

• Knowledge of grade and condition standards for Chinchiolo Stemilt CA
• Ability to read and write
• Computer data entry and calculator skills
• Communicate well with others
• Previous fruit grading experience is preferred
• High School or GED equivalent desired
• Ability to perform repetitive work, paying attention to detail.

• Obtain samples as truck arrives
• Pressure test cherries (firmtech)
• Color separation of fruit
• Inspecting and grading fruit for defects
• Maintain accurate records and input into the computer
• Assist in creating run schedules for production lines
• Maintaining clean and organized workstation

Position is dependent upon the warehousing, refrigeration, trucking, production, sales and shipping. Data and orders are supplied to the production line, shipping, field staff, sales and warehousing

Physical requirements:

• Standing, walking, leg and foot use, handling, grasping.
• Frequent crouching, stooping, twisting, reaching (overhead extension) and lifting/carrying (30 lbs.)
• Occasional sitting, climbing and pushing/pulling (30 lbs.)
• Senses: speaking, hearing, sight (near, far, color), small and taste.

Environmental factors:

Samples are acquired in areas of truck traffic. Work is performed in laboratory setting with occasional cold room work. Area is well ventilated, with good lighting, occasional dust and moderate noise. Rarely there will be slight odors.

Safety factors:

Hazards encountered in work environment include knives, water and trucks. Safety equipment used are back braces and gloves. There is no special license or certificate required for this position.
