Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for hourly production team member positions in our Columbia, South Carolina manufacturing facility. As an hourly production team member, you will need to work in a fast paced, high-speed environment, following standardized work, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment.

Job purpose

The Furnace Technology Technician is responsible for ensuring the glass melting of product with quality and safety at the forefront every day.

Follow the organization’s rules, regulations, and safety operation system.
Ability to work with leadership and superior to complete assigned tasks.
Responsible for the tracking, recording, statistics, analysis, and summarization of various process parameters in the process of glass melting process.
Responsible for the implementation of the furnace, the batching system operation daily inspection and maintenance (including the furnace stove masonry and equipment, batching system equipment, etc.) system, to ensure safe operation of the furnace and batching system.
Responsible for supervising the daily operation standard of the furnace operators, inspecting the execution of process system, guiding the melting operation, giving timely feedback to the problems, and taking measures to correct them.
Responsible for training furnace operator
Work with the workshop to implement safety management work, supervise, and inspect the staff to operate according to the operation guidelines, timely detect and deal with the hidden danger of safety accidents.
Strengthen the management of the emergency materials of the furnace, as well as the drill of the emergency plan of the furnace, to ensure the safe and normal operation of the furnace system.
For quality accidents and quality complaints, implement corrective and preventive measures to ensure normal and stable production.
Other temporary instructions work.

Qualifications:

Associate degree

Working conditions

Must be able to work around extreme heat safely.
Must be able to work in a wet environment safely.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to work around and operate machinery safely.

Physical requirements

Must be able to work 12 hour rotating shifts.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time in a fast-paced environment.
Perform routine maintenance on machinery.
Must be able to work overtime as needed.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Must be able to meet the physical demands of the work environment.
Must be able to bend repeatedly.

Ability to successfully pass a Pulmonary function test, fit test and properly wear a respirator.
