PRIMARY FUNCTION/PURPOSE: Other duties may be assigned.

Maintain a clean and healthy environment for clients, staff, and volunteers by performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Sweep and clean office and program delivery areas.

2. Repair and maintain physical plant and perform minor repairs.

3. Assist in unloading and storage of deliveries.

4. Remove garbage from program and office areas.

5. Clean and mop floors. Prepare floors for stripping and waxing as required areas.

6. Assist maintenance staff in moving furniture in offices and residential areas.

7. Clears sidewalks and entrances of snow /apply salt and keep areas dry during inclement weather.

8. Prepare units for occupancy.

9. Clean, repair and store paint brushes, rollers, ladders, and other equipment; and prepare and apply paints and finish to interior and exterior surfaces when required.

10. Report routine observations of residential and public areas to supervisory staff including conditions which that might affect the safety and security of clients or staff.

11. Overtime is a requirement.

12. Perform other duties and special projects as required including serving on-call for a one-week period each quarter.

13. Facilitate effective communication with other staff.

14. Participate in training and staff-development activities to acquire and maintain both interpersonal and operational skills necessary for successful job performance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Ø High School diploma or equivalent required.

Ø Six months of experience providing custodial services in a business or social service environment.

Ø Familiarity with equipment and processes associated with custodial work.

Ø Ability to lift 75 pounds.
