OVERVIEW

As an essential member of the sports medicine team, you'll oversee the athlete's prevention, care, and rehabilitation during practice and competition. This position requires a minimum of 25 hours a week, up to 40 hours. It varies week to week, but the average work week is 33 hours. The school year ends the 3rd week of May and Starts again in August. There are opportunities for summer work as well, making this a year round position, if needed.

Additional responsibilities include:

Orthopedic assessments and documentation

Counseling on concussions, nutrition, mental health, etc.

Coordinated stakeholder communication, e.g., MD, PT, PSC, etc.

Field and venue setup

Work effectively with local physical therapy and physician teams to ensure an athlete's safe return to sports

Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills

Connect with athletes and parents respectfully and positively

Build and maintain relationships throughout the community

Maintain strong professional relationships with school athletic directors, physicians, physical therapists, and more

EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training, Master's Degree preferred

Florida State licensure

Basic Life Support Certification from the American Heart Association

Exceptional communication and coachability preferred

BOC certified or eligible to sit for BOC
