Children's Network of Hillsborough, LLC is Hiring a Director of Intensive Family Services Team Near Tampa, FL

General Purpose of Job
  • Ensure effective provision of IFST (Intensive Family Services Team) or like services for families identified as unsafe in the child welfare system, and/or other special related programs as identified by CNSWFL.
  • Effectively manage Family Support Services to achieve a reduction of children placed in OOHC (Out of Home Care) by identifying services and Intensive Level Case Management to ensure safety while keeping children out of the judicial system.
  • Serve as the essential/primary lead contact with the Department of Children and Families (the Managing Entity), and all other appropriate community partners as it relates to the services and programs under the purview of this position.
  • Manage staff related to PNA’s (Parent Needs Assistance) and all front-end services to ensure successful family preservation.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Ensure effective provision of IFST (Intensive Family Services Team) or like services for families identified as unsafe in the child welfare system, and/or other special related programs as identified by CNSWFL.
    • Supervise all activities related to IFST program and actively pursue teaming efforts with IFST providers and CNSWFL Staff.
    • Continue Leadership training with both Directors by modeling effective collaboration and accountability techniques with our Partners and stakeholders.
    • Provide all supervisory activities to include Case Management of IFST cases and all community awareness related activities.
    • Research and participate in networking opportunities to identify existing community resources to assist families.
    • Manage all data collection related to IFST Programs. Including and expanding the use of Mindshare or any data collection tool that we find to be effective.
  • Effectively manage Family Support Services to achieve a reduction of children placed in OOHC (Out of Home Care) by identifying services and Intensive Level Case Management to ensure safety while keeping children out of the judicial system.
    • As a natural function of systems maturity, transitions may include SMS (Safety Management Services) and other pieces of our family preservation/engagement SOC (System of Care).
    • Promote effective intensive case management services bolstered by mental health and substance abuse services. To include Peer Recovery and any other lived experience that could provide help and mentorship.
    • Work with and extensively review cases coming from DCF to determine what level of service is required while working with the family.
    • Effectively engage Safety Management Services to ensure families are following all recommended safety plan suggestions and work with Case Management to help identify additional support for families.
  • Serve as the essential/primary lead contact with the Department of Children and Families (the Managing Entity), and all other appropriate community partners as it relates to the services and programs under the purview of this position.
    • Review cases coming from DCF, ensuring families are receiving appropriate level of services
    • Manage all activities as it pertains to In-Home Case Management.
    • Provide direct supervision and problem-solving practices on all court-related activities, when necessary.
  • Manage staff related to PNA’s (Parent Needs Assistance) and all front-end services to ensure successful family preservation.
    • Manage activities ensuring that the CPI’s and CNSWFL staff are communicating and collaborating to help families to achieve self sufficiency
    • Ensure PNA’s (Parent Needs Assistance) referrals are followed up on and continue to improve processes related to PNA’s
    • Work with UM (Utilization Management) staff and te CDA (Community Development Administrator) from DCF to help problem solve and ensure families gain access to needed services to gain family improvement and stability
  • Other duties may be assigned as special projects may be requested
Working HoursCNHC’s work week is Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week. Human Resources will advise you of your work hours; however, business office hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. This position is an in office position.
TravelTravel in and outside of Hillsborough County is required.
TrainingAll employees must complete fifteen (15) hours of on-line or classroom training annually. If the employee is a Certified Child Welfare Professional, Training hours must total twenty (20) annually.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis job has supervisory responsibilities and provides direct supervision of six to eight individuals.
Education And Experience
  • Master’s degree or bachelor’s degree from four-year accredited college or university in Human Services or another related field
  • Official transcripts are a mandatory requirement.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience preferred; and
  • Five (5) years of child welfare experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Other Qualifications
  • Must have knowledge of child welfare processes and rules and be able to use Florida Safe Families Network on-line data
  • Must have a working knowledge of community services in our local 5 county area
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills are a must
  • Must have the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships and work as a team member
  • Sensitivity to cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the agency’s staff and clients
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Adherence to professional ethics
  • Ability to observe and evaluate staff’s abilities in interacting appropriately and effectively with families, children, community resources, service providers, and other professionals
Skills And AbilitiesMust be able to operate standard modern office machinery, including fax, telephone, calculator, computer, scanner, printer, copier, and mail machine. Excellent word processing skills. Must be competent with Microsoft Office Suite programs, including Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Publisher, and Outlook. Must be competent with basic e-mail protocol and procedures including sending, receiving, replying, attachments, and meeting scheduling; excellent written and oral communication skills; effective listening skills; ability to work as a team member, and the ability to work in a multi-cultural environment. Must possess excellent organizational skills and abide by the highest standards of confidentiality.
Pre-Employment Requirements
  • Valid driver’s license required, with proof of insurance, and a clean driver record
  • Criminal background screening (fingerprinting) (Local Law Enforcement and FBI/FDLE)
  • Drug Screening upon hire

Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITYAbility to define and solve practical problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions furnished in written, oral, schedule, mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
