This role involves overseeing the inspection, preparation, receipt, and distribution of sterile processing equipment and supplies for the Operating Room and inpatient units. It's vital for supporting clinical operations in the Operating Room.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED and completion of a Sterile Processing Program required.
• Experience: 6 months to 1 year of related experience required.
• Skills/Knowledge: Moderate computer skills, communication skills, knowledge of aseptic technique, basic math, interpersonal skills, and good telephone etiquette.
• Licenses/Certifications: CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) required.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Advocacy: Ensure a supportive environment for patients and staff. Handle preoperative queries and maintain equipment quality.
• Instrument and Supply Management: Inspect, prepare, and issue sterile and non-sterile items. Maintain productivity and communicate with Operating Room staff regarding supplies.
• Aseptic Technique: Adhere to sterile techniques and protocols for equipment sterilization and disinfection.
• Sterile Processing: Operate cleaning and sterilization equipment efficiently. Prepare for surgical cases and ensure adherence to sterilization standards.
• Safety: Promote a safe environment for everyone. Address unsafe behaviors and ensure accurate communication.

Organizational Responsibilities

• Supply Maintenance: Assist in maintaining an adequate level of supplies and inventory for surgical procedures.

Location and Schedule

• Location: Washington, D.C., CN Hospital (Main Campus).
• Schedule: Monday-Friday; 3:00pm-11:30pm; occasional weekends.

Salary: $22.08 - $26.03 per hour
