Children's National Hospital is Hiring a Revenue Cycle Technology Systems Analyst Near Washington, DC

The Revenue Cycle Technology Informaticist will serve as an information technology subject matter expert/liaison between Revenue Cycle stakeholders and the Bear Institute (on-site IT team), to assist with business and operational support within our Cerner Millennium Revenue Cycle solution portfolio. Cerner Millennium will be the source system for scheduling and registration workflows, prior authorization, financial counseling, point of service collection, eligibility, health information management/medical records, coding, charge capture for both professional and facility billing, follow-up, customer service, claim generation, denials management, and cash posting. In this position the Informaticist will help manage troubleshooting, data needs, issue resolution, system design and optimization, prioritization of change control/enhancements, and operational/workflow concerns, The Informaticist will serve as an escalation point from the business unit to IT, with an emphasis on implementing and supporting system maintenance and applications necessary to support business, financial, and operational needs of the Revenue Cycle stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree 8 years of related experience in healthcare IT and/or Revenue Cycle will be considered in place of a Bachelor's Degree. (Required)
Minimum Work Experience
5 years •5 years of related experience related to Revenue cycle and/or healthcare IT systems is required. (Required)
Required Skills/Knowledge
• Expertise in Revenue Cycle and/or Information technology systems is required
• Knowledge of Cerner clinical and/or revenue cycle applications strongly preferred
• Ability to support large scale projects and software deliveries
• Ability to work effectively on team projects
• Strong analytical, interpersonal , customer service, communication and problem solving skills
• Meticulous eye for detail and accuracy
• Detail-oriented and excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent trouble shooting skills and strong aptitude for translating business needs into technology solutions
• Experience with the build, design and testing of Cerner Revenue Cycle solutions
Functional Accountabilities
  • Ability to analyze workflow and software functionality and identify data integrity issues for process improvement
  • Plan, implement and evaluate Revenue Cycle systems to ensure optimization of new and existing technology solutions to meet operational and financial needs
  • Assist and support department stakeholders from multiple areas in order to gather requirements for design decisions, develop specifications, and test enhancements and other recommended system changes
  • Participate in the Change Control process; provide subject matter expertise and change management consultation from an information systems perspective as needed
  • Plan and implement upgrade requirements on a timely basis
  • Provide hands on troubleshooting of Revenue Cycle Technology systems and work to solve technical problems in partnership with internal system team IT department and external vendors
  • Work with management team to provide strategic direction for exploring future opportunities to use new technology to improve business and processes based on industry trends and organizational needs
  • Accomplishes department objectives according to allocated budget by ensuring technology systems are developed implemented, and maintained successfully based on metrics such as reliability, financial performance, user satisfaction, flexibility and industry standards
  • Assist with the management of issues/proposed resolutions
  • Play integral role in system testing events
  • Collect feedback from stakeholders and end-users and analyze department processes and performance to identify improvement and efficiency opportunities
  • Perform data analysis in order to extract requirements, identify data inaccuracies, and ensure accurate processing and reporting
