Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate master’s level clinician to join us in enhancing our continuum of care within the scope of our mental health service programs. Opportunity will involve a dual focus providing short and long term therapy at the Mental Health Services clinic located at Children’s hospital in St. Paul.

  • Conduct short term therapy sessions with patients after they have stepped down from our one of our partial hospitalization programs (PHP) or inpatient treatment program during their wait for an established therapist.
  • Provide longer term outpatient therapy to children referred from our Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH) team, as well as from the inpatient program or PHP programs.
  • Frequent collaboration with providers from the IBH, inpatient, and PHP teams to ensure a seamless continuum of care for our patients.

Department Overview
The Psychological Services department provides services on both the Minneapolis and St. Paul campuses. Specific services include individual and family therapy, psychological assessment, neuropsychological assessment, and inpatient consultation and liaison. We also have pediatric psychologists embedded in a number of specialty clinics. Annually, we care for over 2,200 children with a primary reason for a visit related mental health concern in our two emergency departments, and complete 23,000 outpatient visits in our behavioral health clinics.

Required License/Certification/Registration:

  • LICSW, LMFT, or LPCC licensure in the State of Minnesota
  • Master's degree in social work, counseling or marriage and family therapy
  • BLS

Required Education:

  • Master's degree in social work, counseling or marriage and family therapy

Preferred Experience:

  • One year as a providing therapy or counseling in a health care or related pediatric setting.

Willingness to work under appropriate clinical supervision.

Exhibits a high degree of professionalism, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively.

Ability to assess and provide intervention services to children and adolescents in acute crisis / experiencing suicidal ideation.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
