Children's Factory is Hiring a 1st Shift Distribution Associate (Full Time) Near Union, MO

SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM. Overtime may required during busy season, including some Saturdays

PAY FREQUENCY: Weekly Pay

SALARY: Starting at $16.25 per hour

JOB SUMMARY

The Distribution Associate will play a vital role in our warehouse operations, ensuring that orders are fulfilled accurately and on time, inventory is managed effectively, and customers receive their products in optimal condition. This position offers the opportunity to learn and grow within our organization while contributing to the success of our distribution center.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with fork trucks and pallet jacks
  • Prior experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment is preferred but not required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects and perform physical tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with warehouse management systems or handheld devices is a plus.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and adapt to changing priorities as needed.
  • Ability to maintain consistent attendance, arriving on time and prepared for all shifts, meetings, and appointments.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES, EXPECTATIONS, AND BEHAVIORS include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Perform assigned tasks in one or more of the following areas on a daily basis:
    • Shipping: Prepare outgoing shipments by accurately packaging items, labeling packages, loading items on to trucks, and coordinating with carriers for pickups.
    • Picking/Pulling: Retrieve items from warehouse shelves based on order specifications using pick lists or handheld devices.
    • Gophering: Assist in various warehouse tasks including fetching items, restocking shelves, and maintaining inventory organization.
    • Packaging: Package items for shipment ensuring they are protected and comply with shipping regulations.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all assigned tasks.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily production goals and deadlines.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform the following physical activities:

  • Heavy Lifting: Regular lifting of heavy packages or materials weighing 50 lbs or more
  • Standing/Walking: Extended periods of standing and walking on distribution floors.
  • Loading/Unloading: Ability to load and unload trucks or containers.
  • Operating Machinery: Using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other warehouse equipment.
  • Inventory Management: Organizing and counting inventory items.
  • Working in Extreme Temperatures: Possible exposure to cold or hot environments, depending on the warehouse conditions.

Work Environment:

The Distribution Associate will primarily work in a fast-paced warehouse and distribution center environment. While performing job duties, employees may be exposed to moderate noise levels, moving machinery, and other typical warehouse hazards. Safety is our top priority, and all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided to ensure a safe working environment.
