Infant/Toddler Teacher
Children's Coalition Early Head Start is looking for a patient and compassionate infant/toddler teacher who has experience working with children between the ages of 6 weeks to 36 months old. An infant/toddler teacher will help lead developmentally- appropriate activities that encourage school readiness in the areas of physical, social/emotional, language/literacy, cognitive, and approaches to learning.
REQUIREMENTS:
A minimum of an Infant/Toddler Child Development Associate (CDA), Associate's,
Bachelor's, or Master's Degree in an approved related field.
Must have reliable transportation, if/when using own vehicle, must have minimum automobile coverage required by state of employment
Experience- 1 year of experience working with infants/toddlers is preferred or a related field
Self-directed and multi-task-oriented
Ability to work as a team member
Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to organize, coordinate, and direct projects Proficiency in Microsoft Office- Word, Excel, Outlook
Be able to lift up to 40 lbs, will be required to perform physical activities to engage with
infants/toddlers, including bending, squatting, getting down, and up the floor.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with a co-teacher in an infant/toddler classroom with mixed ages from 6 weeks to
36 months
Following a daily schedule that includes planned lesson experiences, individual child plans for 8 infants/toddlers
Foster a classroom environment of physical and emotional safety and respect
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning routines to keep facilities sanitary and safe
Prepare and serve snacks and meals throughout the day
Keep parents and families updated on their student's daily activities and progress Complete parent-teacher conferences and home visits to discuss children's development Enter child information into a data system, maintain a child's file, and develop a child portfolio for your caseload
