PROGRAM ASSISTANTS FULL TIME or PART TIME
1. QUALIFICATIONS:
a. High School Graduate or equivalent
b. Ability to work with individuals with disabilities
2. RESPONSIBILITIES: Some of the job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assisting other Program Assistants
Maintaining a good working rapport with participants and staff
Demonstrating enthusiasm, helpfulness, and respect at all times
Sustaining an appropriate affect in challenging situations
Following provided schedules at all times
Engaging participants in all activities they choose to take part in
Encouraging participant communication
Participating in all Program activities, such as but not limited to: outdoor activities, campus events, swimming, and community outings
Lifting, carrying and/or assist in lifting and transitioning participants.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time that may exceed one hour. Kneel, twist, and bend in all directions. Keep up with participants by walking quickly or if necessary, running and/or pursuing.
Consistently completing all required and related participant documentation as requested
Communicating effectively with co-workers and working as a team
Communicating through the appropriate channels
Demonstrating flexibility, e.g. when assigned to other groups.
Conducting oneself in a manner consistent with program policies and procedures
Completing all training requirements set forth by DDD and/or CC Programs
Serving as a bus aide in the AM or PM (F/T hour employees only)
Maintaining a safe, clean and secure environment
Performing other duties as may be assigned
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
