Children's Cardiology (formerly Sibley Heart Center Cardiology) is Hiring a Registered Nurse Near Atlanta, GA

Children’s Cardiology, a subsidiary of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, is comprised of more than 50 pediatric cardiologists providing comprehensive services for patients from before birth to age 21 who have acquired or congenital heart disease. The Clinical Registered Nurse provides oversight of all clinical operations to ensure delivery of effective patient care and efficient operational management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science, Associates Degree, or Diploma in Nursing required from a state accredited RN program.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a clinical setting or equivalent education, training, and experience in pediatrics.
  • Experience in pediatric cardiology preferred.
  • Current Georgia Registered Nurse license required.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills required.
  • Must have general proficiency in computer skills.
  • Must possess general nursing knowledge as well as critical thinking, judgment and assessment skills.
  • Position requires ability to identify and report unusual or problematic circumstances in clinic.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Obtain general assessments and histories.
  • Obtain VS and EKG’s; validate Medical Assistant’s work-up.
  • Review information and report to physician, including any problematic or unusual findings.
  • Pre-clinic chart review for permanent clinics and outreach clinics as appropriate.
  • Holter and Event monitor placement, education and follow-up.
  • Medication education; including administration, actions, reactions and discharge teaching.
  • Phone triage in clinical setting.
  • Preparation and follow-up of tests and procedures including labs, cardiac caths, MRI’s and other.
  • Oversee clinic set up and monthly inventory.
  • General operation and maintenance and trouble shooting of clinical equipment.
  • Coverage of other clinics as operationally necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.
