Learn more about the Job:

The Technical Assistance (TA) Support Specialist provides support to county cross-sector child abuse prevention networks throughout CA working alongside a TA Specialist and the larger Strategies TA team. The TA Support Specialist provides project management to county prevention collaboratives, organization/coordination for networks, data support, research, event planning support and some group/meeting facilitation. Additionally, the Support Specialist takes the lead in coordinating content and producing webinars, county learning exchanges, and routinely collaborates with partner organizations. This position will require travel throughout California as appropriate.

Job Responsibilities:

(50%) Technical Assistance Support to CA County Collaboratives/Networks

  • Provide technical assistance support to TA Specialists working with child abuse prevention and family support networks throughout California. Projects include community needs assessments, partnership development, outcomes tracking, resource coordination, and advanced administrative support.
  • Provide support to community-based networks in developing and executing Child Abuse Prevention Plans and building strong local integrated networks to meet plan goals.
  • Co-design/create custom tools and templates, i.e. toolkits, surveys, infographics, etc.
  • Connect network participants to relevant organizations, colleagues, services, experts, and other resources.

(30%) Webinars, Events, Learning Exchanges/Communities of Practice

  • Support topic-based Learning Exchanges/Communities of Practice in person and via Zoom.
  • Help to plan content, produce, and facilitate topic-based webinars via Zoom with the Strategies TA team based on the needs of networks and the family strengthening field.
  • Prepare documentation, social media posts, website content to spotlight county efforts and share resources with family strengthening organizations throughout the state.
  • Use online tools to post documents and social-media content to share project status, knowledge and lessons learned.
  • Assist with special projects, including but not limited to, coordination and facilitation for statewide convening events, regional gatherings, and other in-person or virtual events.

(15%) Internal/External Collaboration

  • Attend meetings, conferences, and networking events to build relationships with subject-matter experts, family support agencies, and community-based organizations.
  • Prepare presentations and brief Technical Assistance Specialists and OCAP staff on specific project and network-building activities, best practices, tools, and templates that may be useful across multiple projects.

(5%) Other Duties

  • Acquire and enhance knowledge of existing, new, and emerging trends through research, conferences, and participation on committees, as appropriate.
  • Co-develop agendas, slide presentations, take notes/follow up with relevant constituents.
  • Project manage scope of work deliverables.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Organizational/Community Development, Social Work, Public Administration, Public Health, Psychology, or related field preferred. Bachelor's degree with equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Experience facilitating, supporting and collaborating with multi-disciplinary and/or community-based networks.
  • Prior project management and event planning and coordination skills highly desired.
  • Knowledge of models utilized in Child Welfare and the Family Strengthening Field such as trauma-informed care, protective factors and racial equity, diversity and inclusion.
  • Solid research/data skills to gather, compile, analyze and present clear and effective data presentations as well as develop surveys.
  • Experience developing and maintaining partnerships with public/private community and collaborative partners.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of various on-line platforms, i.e. Zoom, Google Drive, Canva, etc.
