Children's Advocacy Center of Greater West Texas,... is Hiring a Court-Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Volunteer Specialist / Case Manager Near San Angelo, TX

The CASA Volunteer Specialist / Case Manager is responsible for recruiting, training, and retaining CASA Volunteers for the program as well as supervising volunteer child advocates (CASA Volunteers) by carrying a partial case load. This position requires occasional evenings and weekends.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Volunteer Recruitment

· Works with Director of CASA and team to set recruitment goals, implement, and execute a comprehensive volunteer recruitment plan for CASA

· Builds and maintains relationships with businesses, organizations, faith groups, city organizations, and other entities for the purpose of creating a network of potential volunteers and recruitment opportunities

· Collaborates in the development of recruitment materials

· Ensures the recruitment of volunteers reflects the demographics of the community and the children and families served by the CAC

· Collects, analyzes, and reports volunteer recruitment data, including ethnicity, gender, and recruitment effectiveness/outcomes

Volunteer Screening, Training and Retention

· Serves as the point of contact for all CASA volunteer inquiries; responds in a thorough and timely manner and provides information for volunteer activities and upcoming trainings

· Conducts and coordinates CASA volunteer interviews as needed

· Ensures each volunteer meets CASA qualifications and standards

· Organizes, and assists with CASA volunteer trainings with Director of CASA and team as needed

· Ensures volunteer data is updated and accurate in Optima software

· Serves as the CAC liaison for CASA volunteers and builds rapport with current volunteers

· Works with the Director of CASA and team to create, implement, and execute a retention program for current volunteers

Case management

· Supervises up to 15 advocates and no more than 15 cases, as assigned

· Coordinates casework responsibilities, including family and child contacts, professional contacts, transportation, support services, linkage to community resources, court report monitoring, appearances at hearings, and maintenance of case files

· Attends court hearings and PCs with child advocate

· Provides notification of meetings and court hearings to child advocates

· Executes timely, accurate reports for submission to the court and other involved parties

· Maintains up-to-date case files, including progress notes, monthly narratives, reports and motions, correspondence, etc.

· Maintains case and child advocate statistics for funding and statistical reporting

· Maintains and fosters congenial relationships with other professionals

· Evaluates child advocate case activity and performance

Other responsibilities

· Attends 30 hours of Advocate Training

· Participates in 12 hours of continuing education each year

· Attends community meetings as agreed upon by Program Director and CPO

· Assists with program development

· Maintains a professional, organized environment in personal office

· Other duties as assigned by Director of Casa and/or Chief Programs officer

Required/Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field required

· Two years of experience in casework in district family court system or equivalent education and experience preferred with knowledge of child placement options, levels of care, and DFPS policies and procedures

· Must possess excellent people and computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and the ability to learn other computer programs applicable to the position

· Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

· Ability to clearly convey and interpret information to others in a clear manner, oral and written

· Ability to work under time constraints and maintain effective job performance

· Should be confident and competent in public speaking and public engagement

· Experience with volunteer recruitment is a plus

· Ability to work independently and in a team environment

· Means and ability to travel to service areas as well as conferences and trainings

· Ability to work evenings, weekends occasionally

· High moral and ethical standards

· Must maintain confidentiality

· Must be 21 years of age or older

· Must pass all criminal background and reference checks

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $38,000.00 per year
