Children of the City is Hiring an After School Program Supervisor Near Brooklyn, NY

This position requires good administrative, organizational, and computer skills in order to coordinate all aspects of operation for our Create Success educational programs, which include After school, Summer program, and College Bound.

Candidate should have experience working with school-age children in afterschool or related programs and be able to maintain the requirements to meet with the Department of Health and Hygiene regulations.

Candidate will work directly under the Executive Director, must be able to work independently and as a team player, be able to interact with COC partners, parents, tutors, and staff in order to achieve the highest quality environment.

Job Description - Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain all up to date requirements and paperwork for the Department of Health.
  • Manage student recruitment, application and enrollment process.
  • Manage tutor recruitment application and hiring process.
  • Maintain all paperwork for tutors, supervisors and students.
  • Record and maintain attendance.
  • Collect, track, and record participant fees.
  • Record and maintain all outcome data and create reports
  • Prepare and inventory all program materials.
  • Prepare tutor training, parent meetings, and special events.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with teachers and faculty in local schools.
  • Establish and maintain communication with parents.
  • Directly oversee and supervise tutors, holding them accountable for their assignments, and obtaining necessary reports from them.
  • Provide required materials and curriculum to tutors.
  • Keep a calendar of time and task items for the year.

Full time or Part time, depending on the candidate's qualifications and availability.

Hours will depend on full time or part time hire.

Part-time Minimum expected Days and Hours are:

  • School Year (September-June): Monday - Friday 3pm-6pm.
  • Summer (July - August): Monday-Friday, 9am -3pm.

Full-time expected Days and Hours are:

  • School Year (September-June): Monday-Friday, 3pm-6pm.
  • Summer (July-August): Monday-Friday 9am-3pm.

Starting salary

  • $20-$25 Per hour depending on credentials, experience and skills.

Requirements:

  • Obtain CPR & First Aid certification.
  • Efficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Good computer and database skills.
  • Knowledge of conversational Spanish is helpful but not mandatory.

*Candidates that meet one of the following categories of criteria will be most considered for this position:

1.) Bachelor's or Associate’s degree in Early Childhood, Child Development, Psychology, or a related field. And One year teaching or supervisory experience in a school, child day care center, family or group family day care home or other early childhood program

OR

2.)New York State Children's Program Administrator Credential and one year teaching or supervisory experience in a child day care center, family or group family day care home or other early childhood program

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 30 per week

Schedule:

  • Afternoon shift
  • After school
  • Monday to Friday

Ability to Relocate:

  • Brooklyn, NY 11232: Relocate before starting work (Required)
