Job Summary:
The Children's Home is seeking a Program Assistant to join our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team in Chenango County. The purpose of ACT is to meet the needs of individuals who have not been well served by traditional service delivery approaches. Grounded in a recovery-oriented practice, ACT offers evidence-based treatment, rehabilitation, case management, and support services through a mobile, multidisciplinary behavioral health treatment team.
The Program Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of the program by managing medical records, facilitating staff communication, maintaining documentation processes, managing accounting and budget records, and performing reception activities.
Responsibilities:
· Manage medical records and ensure compliance with confidentiality regulations.
· Support daily staff communication by assisting in maintaining documentation processes in a central location for access by all team members.
· Maintain documentation in OMH databases
· Manage accounting and budget records for individual and program expenditures.
· Utilize resources such as PSYCKES and Regional Health Information Organization (RHIO) to inform team members.
· Perform reception activities including triaging calls and coordinating communication between the program and individuals.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree or be at least 18 years of age, attained a high-school diploma or equivalent
· Previous experience in a similar administrative role, preferably in a healthcare or mental health setting.
· Knowledge of medical record management and documentation processes.
· Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
· Familiarity with electronic health record systems.
· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
