Job Overview
The Marketing and Communications Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing a broad, comprehensive, and strategic marketing and communications plan designed to elevate the profile of RWCI in the community, promote friend and volunteer engagement, and encourage fundraising. More specifically, this position will be responsible for the creation and implementation of the digital, social, and brand-marketing strategy needed to support RWCI goals outlined in the Strategic Plan, Operating Project Plans, and Executive Team priorities.
The position is responsible for using RWCI's digital platforms to optimize content and drive users to engage with our brand through demonstrated expertise, cutting-edge practices, and technology proficiency. This includes possessing excellent writing skills, and the ability to multitask while maintaining a strong commitment to quality. This position will oversee social media plans and promotions, create and aggregate social content in support of strategic goals, and utilize tracking and analysis to yield highest results.
The position also is responsible for implementing proactive public relations activities, including developing and implementing Public Relations plans for highlighted RWCI events and programs. This position actively seeks out new opportunities for media coverage that expands RWCI's reputation, pitches story ideas, writes press releases and provides stakeholder support of social media, including P2P opportunities. This position will build positive relationships with members of the press, the RWCI internal community and external communities.
