Adoption Case Manager for the Dallas Location.

Job description

Children & Family Institute (CFI) is a nonprofit organization that provides support for parents and families through mentoring, education, and community resource connections. CFI is dedicated to building, strengthening, and restoring families. CFI does State Adoptions, Private Infant Adoptions, and Kinship Adoptions. We provide adoption licensing, support services to adoptive families, and adoptive home studies. This position performs a dual role of Family Mentor duties as well. The Family Mentor assists with providing referrals within the community. Resources are sought out for services such as job placement, financial, legal, housing, and medical assistance when needed. The role of the Family Mentor also requires teaching classes and one-on-one sessions to assure that clients are well guided and supported throughout every need.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing guidance and knowledge to families on the adoption journey with CFI in home preparation for minimum state standards, CFI policies, and standards of SSCC’s with adoption licensing. This will require in-home visits with interviews and living assessments;
  • Provide adoption case management to adoptive families during the licensing process, matching process, supervision period, and adoption consummation.
  • Maintaining required documentation, adoptive family paperwork, and collection of billing and legal documents;
  • Ongoing completion of required training by the state as a caseworker
  • Completion of adoption orientation and adoption training courses with families
  • Provide support services to adoptive families with current placements, specifically kinship adoption families
  • Completing necessary requirements for adoptive home study assessments with CFI, SSCC’s, and minimum standards state licensing guidelines;
  • Travel to various homes in the Dallas and Tarrant Counties and surrounding counties
  • Prepare and conduct intake assessments
  • Helps families that are experiencing difficulties due to job loss, life changes, mental state
  • Empowers families to become self-sufficient and provide safe and secure environments for their children
  • Provide classes weekly. Provide parenting guidance, personal development and life skills classes, client mentoring and emotional support.
  • Participate in outreach events to recruit new client families, some of which may occasionally occur outside of normal office hours
  • Coordinate care and services. Act as a liaison between agencies and community resources for referrals
  • Support families through home visits, if needed. Deliver materials and supplies.
  • Maintain pregnant/parents counseling/mentor hours as directed by the Executive Director/Program Director

Requirements:

  • Required Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or social service field
  • Preferred Master’s degree in Social Work or social service field
  • Required to have at least 3-5 years of experience in adoption

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $42,000.00 - $46,000.00 per year
