Description

This position works closely with students to assist in accomplishing the purposes of the Child Development Associate® (CDA).

  • The facilitator will be the point-person on a range of day-to-day activities, from helping support the functions of the cohorts, to anticipating challenges and serving as a problem solver.
  • Facilitate classes along, running 2 cohorts with 15 students in each cohort
  • Work directly with the Early Childhood Innovation Center (ECIC) CDA coordinator to assist with application processing and provide technical assistance.
  • Using an evidence-based model, the facilitator will provide holistic support, individualized guidance and empower professionals through the credentialing process.
  • Through relationship-based coaching, professionals will grow and enhance interactions with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Provides support to the CDA cohorts by coordinating operations, schedules, and activities; including but not limited to: plans and prepares all relevant documentation; assists with researching issues; coordinates and scheduling meetings; coordinates logistics for meetings including scheduling meeting rooms, setting up conference calls; and securing equipment, as needed.
  • Visit prospective students to assess them, and assist with portfolio and exam preparation.
  • Assists the ECIC CDA coordinator with various activities such as responding to inquiries regarding the CDA, providing instruction and support assisting students in all areas of the enrollment registration process, and advising students into the correct phase of CDA process.
  • Ensures accuracy and consistency of various documents.
  • Provides recommendations according to CDA cohort participant needs or preferences.
  • Coordinates efforts with various internal/external stakeholders and community partners to ensure projects/initiatives are executed in the most efficient way possible.
  • Proactively alert management of potential anticipated issues.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Exercise empathy and reflective listening skills.
  • Prepare and maintain timely documentation and records in accordance with agency, state accreditation, and other requirements, policies and procedures.
  • Keep current on childcare issues and legislation.
  • Serve on agency and community committees as appropriate and assigned.
  • Travel required within Kent and Sussex County, with some travel to New Castle County, required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or related discipline (early childhood administration, child development, human services) with 1-3 years relevant experience, required. Bachelor’s Degree in related field with experience, preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Outlook email and calendar, and Microsoft office products (Teams, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and web-based meeting products such as Zoom and Teams.
  • Demonstrated ability and commitment to building partnerships.
  • High level of integrity and ethics.
  • Experience with coaching/mentoring adult learners and be familiar with adult learning principles and support varied approaches to learning and special accommodations.
  • Strengths-based perspective that resonates through interactions.
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve effectively and efficiently, while anticipating any potential barriers ahead of time before they effect project/program/reporting timelines.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to consistently produce results when up against tight deadlines.
  • Ability to respond appropriately to the cultural differences present among the agency’s service population.
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license, which meets the requirements of the agency’s insurance carrier.
