Child Family Services is Hiring a Family Partner - Mobile Crisis Near River, MA

This individual will use their lived, personal experience to provide support to youth and their support systems during their involvement in YMCI services. Must speak Spanish.

Available Schedule: Full-Time Monday - Friday 8AM-4PM, 9AM-5PM OR 10AM-6PM

$1/hour Language Differential Effective Feb 2024! (eligible languages include: Cape Verdean Creole, Haitian Creole, Portuguese, Spanish or ASL)

Required Education and Experience
Must have lived, personal experience as the primary caretaker of a child/youth with Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED) or other serious mental health needs. Must have a strong belief that recovery is possible and more likely when the ten fundamental components of recovery are utilized in working with individuals.

Job Responsibilities & Essential Functions

  • Provide support to youth and families during their involvement in YMCI
  • Be able to document their experience in working as a primary caretaker of a child with serious emotional disturbance
  • Have knowledge of child and family focused community resources in the community
  • Exhibit competence in working in partnership with youth, parents, and other caregivers of youth with mental health needs, including success in engaging youth in behavioral health services and assisting youth and families in integrating youth and family voice in decision making about services
  • Consult with the Master’s level Clinician they are working with on a regular basis to

assure continuity of information given to youth, families, and caregivers

  • Participate in regularly scheduled supervision, staff meetings, staff development and

training curriculum to include (CPI) Crisis Prevention Intervention

**Family Partners will also be cross trained in additional duties which may be completed on an as needed basis depending on the changing needs and demands of the YMCI department. These duties may include:

  • Triaging clients requesting assistance via phone or in person
  • Using a wand metal detector during in person triage
  • Taking inventory and storing client personal items
  • Identifying available beds for clients who meet the criteria for a higher level of care and fax/follow up on required paperwork needed for admission
  • Monitoring clients being served and boarded onsite via room check and or security

cameras

  • Scanning documents into electronic health records
  • Additional administrative duties may be required as needed

  • Demonstrates skills for communication and interaction across cultures, including the ability to recognize and manage personal behaviors, moods, and impulses to create an inclusive, equitable, and welcoming climate within the agency
