Child Care Associates is Hiring a Director of Communications Near Fort Worth, TX

Summary/Objective

Child Care Associates and its related entities are looking for a hands-on strategic communicator and storyteller to spread the word about our impact in the community. The Director of Communications will create and share high quality content, connecting with our key audiences through media outreach, announcements, editorial placements, events and speaking opportunities. Reporting to the Chief of Staff, the Director of Communications will work closely with a senior peer group within the organization as the communications partner on a variety of initiatives with a heavy emphasis on brand management. This role is responsible for managing all communications plan activities and building internal and external relationships with the organization's entities and constituencies, including funders and the media. This Director position is largely in-person daily with remote options available.

Minimum Requirements:

Child Care Associates is seeking an accomplished Director of Communications who has at least 8 years of communications experience, ideally in a leadership role within a complex nonprofit entity, and covering areas such as website content, newsletters, and donor communications. The ability to take knowledge and transform it into exciting and useful messages and disseminate it to the right audiences through the best distribution channels is critical.

Specific requirements include:

· Significant communications experience including internal, external, public relations, and promotion preferably in the nonprofit and/or education sector.

· Experience using and building capacity with an organization to use customer relationship management (CRM) technology, preferably HubSpot.

· Highly collaborative style; experience developing and implementing communications strategies.

· Excellent writing/editing and verbal communication skills.

· A strong track record as an implementer who thrives on managing a variety of key initiatives concurrently.

· Skilled at relationship-building with the flexibility and finesse to "manage by influence".

· High energy, maturity, and leadership with the ability to serve as a unifying force and to position communications discussions at both the strategic and tactical levels.

· Committed to working collaboratively with all constituent groups, including staff, board members, volunteers, donors, program participants, and other supporters.

· Self-starter, able to work independently, and entrepreneurial; enjoys creating and implementing new initiatives.

· Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with communications technologies, including content management systems and digital graphics production.

Preference may be given to outstanding candidate with:

· MA in communications

· Spanish language (oral and written)

· Strong media connections in Fort Worth, Dallas, and preferably Texas

Responsibilities:

· Develop, implement, and evaluate an annual communications plan across the agency, encompassing both internal and external communications.

· Manage the development, distribution, and maintenance of all print and electronic collateral including, but not limited to, annual report(s), newsletters, brochures, flyers, advertising and organizational websites

· Lead and help generate online content that engages audience segments, leads to measurable action, and provides cohesion across entities.

· Field media requests and manage media relationships, delivering key data and information when needed.

· Collaborate with the CEO, Chief of Staff, and the leadership team to develop communications strategies that will broaden programmatic reach and deepen impact

· Ensure parent-facing communication across program areas is engaging as well as mindful of the diversity in age, education, race-ethnicity and spoken languages.

· Partner with the child services leadership to help develop and implement marketing approaches to ensure full enrollment, alongside a selected marketing firm

· Remain abreast of the expanding use of AI in communications and tools the agency may wish to consider using (in partnership with the Director of IT)

· Put communications vehicles in place to create momentum and awareness as well as to test the effectiveness of communications activities.

· Guide organization leaders on sharing information and presenting effectively

· Proactively find opportunities to elevate the organization and its key leaders on the state and national levels.

· Mentor and lead a team member responsible for general communications administration and coordination

· Enhance the organization’s brand including maintaining the active use of the brand book, engaging leadership and key employees in use of the brand book.

· Support internal and external events to reflect the organization branding and level of professionalism

· Utilize every opportunity to reinforce CCA’s mission of investing in the future of children, families and communities so that every child, regardless of zip code, has access to quality early education and care.

· Consider CCA’s core values and equity commitments throughout all communications to all audiences.

· Other duties (up to 10%) as assigned.

Child Care Associates offers a competitive benefits package that is provided to all fulltime employees that include health, dental and life insurance coverage. Additional voluntary benefits are offered to all fulltime employees in addition to the core benefits package.

After completing one (1) year of service, the company contributes 4% of the employee’s earnings to the retirement plan. If the employee also elects to make a contribution to the plan, Child Care Associates will match half (50%) of the employee’s contribution up to 4% of base salary.
