Job Overview and RequirementsThe Drug & Alcohol Prevention Education Program Supervisor provides programmatic and administrative oversight for Drug & Alcohol Prevention Programs in Delaware County, PA. Child and Family Focus’ prevention programming in Delaware County focuses on the substance use prevention and education needs of youth, their family members, and the community at large by providing a wide array of evidence-based programs as well as community-based activities in services. While working as part of a team, the Supervisor will provide supervision, support, and coaching to a team of 8 to 10 full-time equivalent employees, and up to 10 independent contractors. Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in public health or the human services field and one or more years of experience in a supervisory role
OR a bachelor’s degree in a public health or the human services field with three or more years of experience in a supervisory role.
  • Three or more years of experience working with children, youth, and families in public health, substance abuse, and/or mental health settings.
  • Availability to facilitate programming for families or other related events one to two weekday evenings per week, not to include Friday evenings.
  • Availability to attend prevention education programming, health fairs or other marketing/outreach events on up to 10 weekend days as needed throughout the year.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience with program development, implementation of evidenced-based programming, and analysis of outcomes data to monitor the efficacy of programs/interventions.
  • Efficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Microsoft Forms, Survey Monkey, and Canva
  • Prior experience working in and strong knowledge of school systems
  • Familiarity with the Delaware County region and area resources
The Delaware County Drug & Alcohol Prevention Education Program Supervisor will:
  • Maintain a strengths-based culture of service delivery tailored to the needs of the Delaware County communities. 
  • Communicate effectively with leadership, coworkers, funders, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide oversight and direction to all PEP Delaware County staff: Prevention Specialists, Lead Prevention Specialist, Family Program Prevention Specialist, Data Entry Coordinator, and Communication and Engagement Coordinator.
  • Conduct and document individual and group supervision meetings at regular intervals. 
  • Ensure that all Delaware County PEP Staff complete the required training and certifications.
  • Plan quarterly team-building training and activities for staff development and retention.
  • Conduct outreach and marketing efforts to secure host-sites and participants for evidence-based prevention programs including but not limited to: Strong African American Families (SAAF), LifeSkills Training (LST) (Elementary, Middle, High, Transitions, and Parent), The Blues Program, Too Good for Drugs (TGFD), Unity Circle, Girls Circle, The Council for Boys and Young Men and Teen Intervene.
  • Collaborate with schools, systems, organizations, and other community programs to assess needs for culturally tailored and age-appropriate services.
  • Coordinate program and event scheduling, staff assignments, and all materials for implementation.
  • Assist in facilitating evidence-based prevention programs and speaking engagements as needed. 
  • Comply with Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP) regulations and best practices outlined in the PEP Policy and Procedure Manual to minimize participant attrition rates, maintain fidelity to evidence-based programming, promote positive outcomes, and to maintain detailed records required by DDAP and funders and support employees in doing the same.
  • Complete fidelity observation and assessments to ensure staff are delivering programs with fidelity.
  • Work independently and in collaboration with the Communication and Engagement Coordinator to carry out social and print media campaigns and to develop visually engaging program materials including slide decks, presentations, flyers, and handouts.
  • Collaborate with the fiscal department to manage budgets and track spending. 
  • Meet deliverables identified through our contracts with the Delaware County Department of Human Services Division of Drug & Alcohol and agreements with other funders. 
  • Oversee the collection and analysis of program output data in collaboration with the Data Entry Coordinator.
  • Participate regularly in community coalitions and committees, attend health fairs, and participate in other information dissemination efforts throughout the community. 
  • Use and implement the 5 core values of Trauma-Informed Care in all work practices - Safety, Trustworthiness, Choice, Collaboration, & Empowerment.
Work Environment:
  • Work in standard office environment as well as community settings to include schools, homeless shelters, detention centers, faith-based establishments, indoor and outdoor community resource fairs, and buildings maintained by other child and family-serving organizations.
  • Availability to facilitate evening programming up to two evenings per week and ongoing availability during evening hours, as needed, to support staff remotely.
  • Availability to attend programming or outreach events up to 10 weekend days per year.
  • Substantial local travel in your own vehicle as necessary to perform the job responsibilities listed above.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Salary of range of $56,000 to $58,000 based on experience
  • Ability to earn an additional $4,800 per year through a quarterly bonus structure tied to program deliverables
