Child and Family Focus is looking to expand IBHS services in Montgomery County and is looking for a qualified Part Time Behavior Health Technician (BHT) to join our team. IBHS, formally known as BHRS, is looking for a candidate who meets the qualifications and is excited to work as part of a new and innovative team in the Montgomery County area.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Provide 1-to-1 support to the child, parent, and/or caregiver to address the therapeutic needs of the child, youth, or young adult using behavioral interventions and strategies as instructed by a Behavioral Consultant in the home, school, and community settings. 
  • Support problem-solving and skill development of the child, youth, or young adult. 
  • Instruct children on how to understand, direct, interpret, manage, and control feelings and emotional responses to situations. 
  • Support the development of improved decision-making skills to manage behavior. 
  • Assist with the development of social skills and socially acceptable behaviors. 
  • Instruct on stress reduction techniques. 
  • Collect behavioral data. 
  • Fulfill client prescriptions as outlined within the monthly prescription.
  • Overlap with the BC at least 2 times/month and consult with the BC weekly.
  • Submit necessary proof of service delivery and billing documentation within the required timeframe.
  • Document case activity using an EMR system within the required timeframe.
  • Participate in monthly supervision.
  • Using and implementing the 5 core values of Trauma-Informed Care in all work practices - Safety, Trustworthiness, Choice, Collaboration, & Empowerment.

Qualifying Criteria for Behavior Health Technician: Applicants MUST meet ONE of the following:

  • Have a high school diploma or the equivalent of a high school diploma and have completed a 40-hour training covering the RBT Task List, 2nd edition. CFF will sponsor the 40-hour RBT training for prospective candidates.
  • Have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the provision of behavioral health services.
  • Have a certification as a BCaBA.
  • Have a certification as an RBT.
  • Have a certification as a BCAT.
  • Have a behavior health certification or behavior analysis certification from an organization that is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies or the American National Standards Institute.

Compensation and Benefits: 

  • Part time hours: 15-20 hours a week
  • Competitive starting hourly range of $15-16
  • 401K plans with company match and profit share
