The Back of House Director is responsible for implementing systems and processes to provide an efficient and safe work environment. They play a vital role in coaching both team members and leaders who work in the kitchen to portray a sense of urgency when preparing desirable food in a food safe environment with accurate and timely speed of service. Kitchen Directors pay special attention to food preparation and production detail to ensure an operational excellent environment through remarkable and food safe service for the team and guests. Collaboration with Front-of-House Directors is essential for this position to maintain healthy communication of processes that are implemented that influence the reputation of the business.
Uphold Chick-fil-A standards and procedures while serving craveable food.
Communicate all processes and systems to ensure that all members of the team are on the same page.
Maintain Food Safety score of a 1
Food Safety focus- health inspection reports, ecosure reports- communicating the details of these and action points to the team
Delegate operational responsibilities to both assistant directors and team leaders for tasks to be accomplished in a timely manner.
Schedule and lead meetings for all Kitchen leaders bi-monthly about current and future trends, discussing and developing future leaders, and communicating business needs and ideal information.
Schedule and reschedule all Deloitte Quality visits; schedule leaders to be present for Deloitte visit walkthroughs, communicate and execute the expected plan to successfully represent the business and score a 96% or higher on all Deloitte Quality visits.
Create an environment of food safety through the food safety five: Pests, Cross-contaminations, Cleaning and Sanitation, Health and Hygiene, Time and Temperature.
Implement all findings from ECOSURE, health inspections, and Deloitte visits through follow up meetings with team leaders.
Actively check CEM and Spotlight for improvement of customer satisfaction.
Utilize the inventory activity report to influence food cost. Thoroughly identifying weak inventory areas and communication with truck order personnel can help with consistent end-of-month counts and accurate ordering.
Implement processes and systems to further lower Positive Gap and IPO.
Actively check Chick-fil-A home for all updates to processes and procedures along with any upcoming rollouts
Accountable for overseeing kitchen cleanliness for daily, monthly, and quarterly operations through cleaning lists.
Quarterly Performance Evaluations with Directors distributed by Operating Partner
Responsible for helping with all QICS/credits to CFA Supply and other suppliers
Communicate any product withdrawals with team and receive credit for that product
