The Job:

Chicagoland Neuropsychology is seeking a full-time office manager and billing specialist to join our small but mighty team! We are a mental health practice that provides neuropsychological and psychological testing and psychotherapy. This is a hybrid position that requires 2-3 days per week onsite in our Oak Park office and the rest of the week remote. This position will also allow for opportunities to develop skills in new areas, such as marketing, allowing for career growth and providing variety. We offer a competitive salary, and we are a pretty great group to work with.

Responsibilities:

• Answer incoming phone calls.
• Respond to all voicemails, emails, texts, and faxes.
• Screen potential patients, obtain all demographic info, and verify insurance benefits
• Schedule initial intakes and process patient deposits
• Obtaining pre-authorizations if necessary
• Submit claims via Office Ally/PracticeMate
• Ensure that claims, denials, rejections, and appeals are efficiently processed. Post payments and Review Explanation of Benefits
• Generate monthly A/R reports and generate patient statements
• Perform general office tasks as required

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum two (2) years of billing/insurance experience
• Must be knowledgeable about insurance terminology, PPO, deductibles, co-pays, etc., with private insurance and Medicare
• Excellent customer service skills
• Candidates must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience
• Mental/Behavioral Health knowledge
• Medical Billing Certification

- Familiarity with DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) codes
- Knowledge of medical office systems and procedures
- Experience working with medical records and coding
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Skills:
- Experience in medical collection practices
- Coding certification (e.g., CPC, CCS)
