Job Description: Oak Park family seeking an active, dependable, and experienced Nanny/House Manager for three children. Start as soon as possible.Compensation: $30 /hr. vacation, holidays, and PTO.Schedule: Guaranteed 35 hours a week. Monday-Friday, 1:00pm-8:00pm. Nanny/House Manager should be flexible with start and end times. Has the ability to come to work a full day when children have days off from school or switch to an earlier schedule during summer months a significant plus.Job Details and Responsibilities:
Nurturing and attentive care for three children (ages 10, 8, 6), always ensuring their safety and well-being, with a focus on growing independence and self-reliance. Foster a positive and respectful relationship with children, promoting open communication and trust.
Childcare responsibilities will include:
Pick up/drop off children from school, summer camps, activities and help with maintaining their schedule and tracking their school and activity calendars.
Establishing and maintaining structured and consistent routines, rules, and expectations, tailored to unique needs of each child.
Assist with homework, providing guidance and support as needed, and setting up afterschool craft projects and outdoor activities to facilitate creativity and fun.
Learn to implement strategies to support a child with anxiety and child with ADD towards increased executive functioning, calm and independence.
Schedule and monitor play dates.
Prepare healthy meals and snacks for children and pack lunches for school.
House Manager responsibilities include:
Help maintain a clean and organized household, engaging children in tidying up common areas as they go and ensuring they help with key chores around the home.
Responsible for prepping school lunches, children’s laundry (including towels and bedding), organizing children’s clothes for seasons/by age.
Before school pickup, help with drop-off and pick up of adult dry cleaning and laundry, unpacking groceries, taking car to and from car wash.
Communicate regularly with parents regarding children’s progress, milestones and any concerns or issues that may arise.
Qualifications:
Nanny/House Manager should be interested in a long-term commitment with the family.
Should be self-sufficient. Will be able to plan activities and keep track of children’s needs. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Reliable and communicative. Able to communicate well and be receptive to feedback.
Has long-term experience working with multiple children at a time, is highly energetic, and is comfortable with a changing schedule and active household.
Patient, compassionate, and adaptable approach to childcare, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Proficiency in music (playing an instrument, music education, etc.) and/or Spanish language is highly desirable.
A background in education/child development and behavior management techniques is preferred but not required.
Driving is needed for the role. Nanny should have a safe driving record and be able to use their own vehicle when needed.
