The Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) is seeking to hire a TIP Intern. This position shall primarily support the Transportation Programming Team with the development and Implemenation of the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), the $79 billion program of all federally funded and regionally significant surface transportation projects in the seven-county metropolitan Chicago region. Administration of the TIP is critical of CMAP's role as the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for this region and is an essential component to advance the region's comprehensive plan.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist in key functions related to the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP)
Support in the timely execution of all work required to maintain and update the eTIP database, which includes nearly 2,000 TIP projects
Contribute toward creating and editing documentation of the transportation planning process
Act as a resource to internal staff regarding federal transportation policy
Provide support in collecting and analyzing project data to support CMAP's transportation program management activities
Analyze transportation project data to identify trends in schedule delays and cost changes
Assess transportation data to analyze transportation needs in the region
Reconcile and organize CMAP’s regional program against partner agencies’ programmatic data
Assist in supporting a variety of committees and working groups
Record comprehensive notes to help comply with federal regulations
Support committee chairs, liaisons, and members in preparation of meetings
Provide day-of assistance at relevant committee meetings

Intern Compensation: $20/hr
