About The Chicago Institute of Advanced Bariatrics (CIAB) and the Medical Weight Management (MWM) program:
The Chicago Institute of Advanced Bariatrics (CIAB) is a branch of the Chicago Institute of Advanced Surgery (CIAS), a multispecialty general surgery practice group with providers specialized in hepatobiliary, colorectal, breast surgery and other general surgeries. Our bariatric surgeons are board certified in Obesity Medicine and our center is designated as a comprehensive Center of Excellence by the American College of Surgeons (ACS). We have a strong presence in bariatric surgery under the leadership of Dr. Rami Lutfi who performs over 350 cases per year, including tertiary care for complex revisions.
Our medical weight management program was started a few years ago, and grew exponentially after the FDA approval of GLP-1 agonists. Being in private practice makes us unique with the ability to create strong contracts with employers such as United Airlines and Walgreens. We practice academic surgery and have two fully accredited fellowships in bariatric surgery. We are part of multiple FDA trials, such as the Allurion Gastric Balloon. All of these would make this a robust position for one seeking to improve their knowledge and career.
The Chicago Institute of Advanced Bariatrics (CIAB) is seeking to expand the Medical Weight Management (MWM) program. We are recruiting for an advanced care practitioner (ACP) to join our practice alongside our comprehensive team including program coordinator, dietitian and psychologist. Preferably, the advanced practitioner would have the certificate of Advanced Education in Obesity Medicine from the Obesity Medicine Association.
