STATION HEAD JOB DESCRIPTION - FOOTBALL

Want to spend your summer outside and playing sports at Chicago's Premier Sports Camp? Hi-Five Sports Camp Chicago is looking for Station Heads with strong leadership skills and creativity in planning programs and activities for campers and experience in implementing and following through on curriculums and action plans. Hi-Five Station Heads are people who can have fun, while simultaneously being responsible and good role models to our campers. A good Station Head is always three steps ahead of the schedule and takes personal pride in making their station the best it can be. Station Heads are team players, versatile and high energy.

Qualifications

• Documented experience in field sports instruction or documented training and experience in the variety of sports the program offers
• Previous experience working at a summer camp is a plus
• Ability to communicate and work with groups participating and provide necessary instruction to participants and staff.
• Athletic, team or individual-sport background
• Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the activity
• Experience working in camp setting with children (preferable)
• Physical ability to participate in activities, run, swim, lift, or support the weight of children
• Ability to pass a background check, a physical, and proof of immunizations
• Upbeat, positive and engaging personality
• Strong work ethic; proactive, responsible and accountable by nature
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
• Experience in setting up, securing, and maintaining field sports equipment

Essential Job Functions

• Develop and deliver a sports program that is appropriate for the age and ability of campers
• Ensure that program staff and participants know and follow safety and educational procedures
• Maintain, clean the field sports equipment including balls, bats, nets etc.
• Participate enthusiastically in all program activities, planning and leading those as assigned
• Participate as a member of the program staff team to deliver and supervise programs, special events, and other all-program activities and program functions
• Assist in the planning of any special events if asked

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 35 per week
