The Emergency Nursing Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Department Manager in providing overall leadership and direction for the units or areas of responsibility, and for creating an environment that fosters collaboration among the team to achieve operational and clinical excellence. This will be achieved through the following activities: Works collaboratively with physicians to develop methods for improving the quality of care; works collaboratively with department leadership to achieve quality, fiscal and patient experience goals and expectations.

Responsibilities
  • Creating and implementing nursing policies to foster a positive and organized work environment while planning, prioritizing and assigning health care tasks to clinical support team members
  • Managing medication schedules and ensuring communication with the medical team to avoid medication errors
  • Encouraging all staff to adhere to the highest standards in patient care and conducting regular staff reviews
  • Maintaining knowledge of current trends in nursing and ambulatory care and educating teams
  • Communicating with patients and their family members as needed, and offering emotional support and compassionate care to patients and families in distress
  • Assessing, processing and discharging patients
  • Managing patient and employee records with a focus on following HIPAA regulations and quality standards
  • Providing a direct line of communication between patients, nursing staff and physicians
Qualifications
  • Current licensure as Registered Nurse in the state of Arkansas.
  • BSN, or pursuit of BSN or higher degree required. 
  • A minimum of four years clinical nursing experience in a hospital setting or three years demonstrated leadership as a charge RN or PCC.
