Responsibilities
Job Summary :
Under direction and supervision of the Physical Therapist provides appropriate rehabilitation treatment and / or maintenance therapy program as assigned.
Follows established legal state and federal standards and practices.
Essential Functions :
- As per the individual resident plan designed by the Physical Therapist provides modalities to the patient in accordance with physical therapy standards.
- Observes records and reports patient’s condition and reaction to treatment in accordance with physical therapy standards.
- Schedules patients for sessions within their daily activities after consultation with nursing staff.
- Removes and replaces braces splints and slings from patient bodies before and after treatment.
- Maintains safety standards for protection of patients assisting personnel and self.
- Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience :
High school diploma or equivalent
Required Minimum Knowledge Skills and Abilities :
- Knowledge of organizational policies regulations and procedures to administer patient care.
- Knowledge of physical therapy and medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
- Incumbent should be able to maintain quality control standards react calmly and effectively in difficult situations.
- Interpret adapt and apply guidelines and procedures and communicate clearly.
Preferred Qualifications :
Previous experience in similar work setting
