In accordance with department policies and procedures, Linen Tech collects soiled linen and transports linen to the soiled room, transports clean linen carts to clean linen area, fills linen orders and delivers linens. May have to sort, wash, dry, fold and deliver linen to the patient rooms when necessary. Collects soiled linen and transport linen to designated area, transports clean linen carts to the clean linen area, fills linen orders and delivers linen

• Collects soiled linen and re-usable equipment from patient room nurse servers and soiled holds, takes linen carts to soiled room.

• Follows infection control policies for handling soiled linen as established by the laundry and all regulatory agencies. 

• Picks up clean linen cart from the designated area and takes to the clean linen area for sorting and filling carts.

• Processes special handling items (i.e. personal clothing, aprons, bibs, gait belts, lifts, curtains, etc.) and delivers to patient area or department as appropriate.

• Fills scrubs/linen requests for hospital staff and deliver to designated areas.

Fills outside orders for Surgery Center, Heart Center, Kidney Center and ENT.
