CHI St. Alexius is looking for a PRN Respiratory Therapist to join the team!
To provide and coordinate high quality Respiratory Therapy upon the order of a licensed physician to promote the health and recovery of patients served by the St. Alexius Medical Center.
What You'll Do:
Is a team player; works as a team with co-respiratory therapists, physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals to manage patient care and delivery of quality patient care.
Identifies problems, determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives and to make recommendations.
Update respiratory therapy job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Employ evidence-based practice. Integrate best research with clinical expertise and patient values for optimum care, and participate in learning and research activities to the extent feasible.
Actively participates in department meetings.
Performs basic and intensive respiratory therapies, including but are not limited to; aerosol therapy, bronchial hygiene, volume expansion, oxygen therapy, diagnostics, patient/family education, invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation, patient transport, mechanical ventilation management, hemodynamic monitoring, airway management, capnography, rapid response team member, inhaled nitric oxide. Drawing, analyzing and reporting results from arterial, venous, capillary and spinal fluid samples for Point of Care testing.
Actively participates in daily patient rounds.
QualificationsEducation: Graduate of an accredited/AMA certified School of Respiratory Therapy. An Associate/Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy is preferred.
Licensure: Licensed with the North Dakota State Board of Respiratory Care.
