As our NICU Nurse at CHI Health’s CUMC-Bergan Mercy Hospital, you’ll monitor the complex medical needs of sick and preterm infants. You’ll provide compassionate care, serving as their advocate; supporting their best interests when they cannot.

You’ll clinically care for your patients, remaining focused and attentive, as you continuously monitor them throughout your shift. About Us
The NICU at CUMC Bergan Mercy is a 36-bed, Level III unit dedicated to caring for a wide variety of infants requiring intensive care. We have a robust interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and lactation specialists involved in the care of some of the most complex babies in the region. Our NICU is focused on providing family-centered care and proudly offers private rooms for our babies.

ResponsibilitiesAs a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering the highest quality patient care. This will involve, utilizing your knowledge and skills to educate patients' families on prevention and healthy habits.
What You'll Do
- Monitor patients' conditions and assess their needs.
- Educate parents on various interventions or procedures, medications (name and purpose), exams, etc.
- Assess newborns and provide care.
- Communicate with the care management team.
- Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families.
What You'll Need
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license that allows you to practice in our state
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- One year of RN experience preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Specialty certification NRP required within 5 months of hire.
- Additional certification or licensure may be required upon hire
