The Community at Holy Family Manor is now hiring CNA’s. We have multiple roles open for skilled CNAs to join our growing team. You will provide outstanding patient care and physical support for residents on a daily basis. To do well in this role you should have your state-certified nursing assistant certification.

JOB TITLE: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

REPORTS TO: Administrator and Director of Nursing

CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

CNA Certified Nursing Assistant duties and responsibilities

Certified Nursing Assistants are responsible for many patient care tasks to ensure that each patient receives the comprehensive and personalized care they need. Some responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:

CNA Responsibilities:

• Providing great resident care.
• Answering resident calls and determining how best to help them.
• Providing physical support for residents with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, getting out of bed, - using the toilet, walking, standing, or exercising.
• Ensuring patients or residents receive appropriate diet by reviewing their dietary restrictions, food allergies, and preferences.
• Obtaining a wide range of information from physicians, caregivers, and nurses about resident conditions, treatment plans, and suggested activities.
• Measuring and recording food and liquid intake and urinary and fecal output and reporting changes to medical or nursing staff (as needed).
• Examining residents to detect issues requiring medical care, including open wounds, bruises, or blood in the urine.
• Noting observations of resident behavior, including complaints, or physical symptoms to nurses.
• Stay up to date on CNA training and facility policy and procedure.

CNA Requirements:

• State Certified Nursing Assistant Certification
• Current CPR Certification
• Current First Aid Certification
• Valid CNA degree from a credited CNA program
• Ability to think and work independently and with direction, and communicate with staff members in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment
• High School graduate or equivalent
• Comfortable using a computer
• Excellent personal hygiene
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including patient care, patience, empathy and compassion
• Effective communication skills, including active listening, writing, speaking and reading comprehension
• Good collaboration and teamwork skills
• Fast and adaptive problem-solving abilities
• Keen attention to detail
• In-depth understanding of patient care policies and regulations
• Familiarity with symptoms and signs of improvement for a number of medical conditions
• Comfortable working with specific populations of residents, including elderly patients and those with special needs
• Physical strength and stamina
