Camp Chewonki is seeing Facilities Support Staff to join the team this summer! This is an opportunity to have fun while working in a camp environment!

• Location: Wiscasset, Maine (On Campus, in-person)

• Schedule/ 2024 Dates: 40 hours/week; June - August

• Reports to: Facilities Manager, Facilities Shift Supervisor

Position Summary:

Facilities Support Staff help with laundry, cleaning, occasional grounds work, and other tasks as required. Facilities Support Staff are an integral part of the Summer Camp team and frequently interact with campers and other seasonal staff. 

Essential Responsibilities:

• Cleaning

  • Maintain safe, clean, and functional work and program spaces.

  • Sweep, mop, wash windows, and vacuum common areas.

  • Clean and maintain sanitary restrooms and shower facilities.

  • Organize and maintain inventory of all cleaning supplies and equipment.

  • Collect single stream recycling and trash.

• Laundry

  • Wash, fold, and organize camp laundry for participants.

  • Wash, fold, and organize support services laundry.

  • Clean and maintain the laundry room.

• Facilities

  • Assist with facilities or grounds work as needed.

  • Assist with special events.

• Assume other responsibilities as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be at least 14 years old.

• Must pass Criminal Background Check.

• Attend required onboarding and training sessions (in person/on campus).

• Friendly attitude. 

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Must have reliable transportation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to lift up to 25 lb at a time.

• Prolonged periods of standing and walking.

• Must be able to work in an active, outdoor environment in a variety of weather conditions.

SALARY & BENEFITS

• $14.50 - $16.00/hour
