Total Number of Openings 1 Chevron is accepting online applicants for the Legal Analyst position through June 4th at 11:59 PM. Chevron Law Function’s Employment Law Group is comprised of leading experts who deliver world-class employment law support to enable timely business results and competitive advantage. The Employment Law Group supports enterprise clients in executive compensation, benefit plan investments, employee benefits, traditional labor, employment law, investigations, HR acquisitions and divestitures, and diversity. It also manages employment dispute resolution and partners with enterprise Litigation Management teams. The Legal Analyst will manage the Employment Law Group’s business operations (e.g., developing and managing information systems, oversee matter management such as outside counsel engagements and external and internal billing) and conduct research to support legal services. The successful candidate will need to build highly collaborative relationships with Human Resources, management, and Law Function partners to deliver results. The successful candidate will also need strong digital fluency so as to be able to master Workday, electronic discovery, electronic matter management/billing, preservation order and other digital platforms. The successful candidate will also help innovate in the delivery of legal services, such as by developing practical applications for artificial intelligence, and should have a strong interest in human resources issues and law. Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to: Developing and maintaining information management systems. This includes systems for managing internal knowhow, legal libraries, and litigation discovery. Researching and developing in-depth knowledge of how data is stored and accessed within the organization to respond to litigation-related document requests, develop preservation orders, and advise on strategic matters. Legal matter management, including engagement of outside counsel, and management of billing, budgeting and reporting. Advise on compliance-related procedures (e.g., internal tax and Medicare-reporting requirements to administer settlements) Manage external vendors, such as court filing, legal research and e-discovery firms Administer and advise clients on the legal hold (preservation order) process Conduct factual and legal research, including witness interviews Assist in drafting responses to government or litigation-related inquiries Required Qualifications: Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders to achieve high quality results in a timely manner Demonstrated digital fluency, so as to be able to quickly learn and master systems such as Workday, iManage, TeamConnect, electronic discovery software, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft SharePoint, and CoPilot Self-starter; demonstrated ability to work with minimal oversight and to proactively identify and address issues, exercising independent judgment Demonstrated ability to write and speak clearly, concisely, and with precision Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of data analytics or statistical analysis, especially as pertinent to equal employment opportunity Advance knowledge of spreadsheets (for example, to analyze pay equity, conduct legal damages modeling, etc.) Fluency in legal research, including LexisNexis and Bloomberg BNA, legal citation, and accessing judicial and government dockets. Knowledge of human resources concepts, such as components of compensation or statutorily protected leaves, so as to be able to effectively research, comprehend and analyze human resources issues Experience interacting with government agencies and responding to government requests for information Paralegal certificate from an ABA approved program or a post-secondary degree Litigation and e-discovery experience Relocation Options: Relocation may be considered. The selected candidate’s compensation will be determined based on their skills, experience, and qualifications. Chevron offers competitive compensation and benefits programs, including a traditional pension in addition to a 401(k) that features an 8% employer match (if you contribute 2%), an annual bonus plan, and paid vacation. This position also offers a flexible 9/80 schedule (9 workdays over a two week, 80 hour period, with every other Friday off), coupled with hybrid work (three days in office per week, the remainder remote).
