Reports to: Executive Director and Director of Maintenance

Summary: Provides a clean and pleasant environment for all residents, employees and visitors through effective performance of assigned housekeeping functions and tasks.

Qualifications: Previous housekeeping experience required. Effective personal skills and caring, nurturing attitude are a must.

Physical Requirements: Requires the ability to exert 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or constantly lift, carry, push or move objects. Walking, bending, stooping and squatting are required frequently. Must have the knowledge and ability to operate cleaning equipment. Uses hazardous cleaning chemicals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties include but are not limited to:

1. Performs routine daily cleaning tasks, including resident rooms, nursing station, hallways and other public access areas, activity and day rooms, staff areas and utility roos.

2. Performs major cleaning tasks as applicable, such as: stripping and waxing floors, shampooing carpets, washing walls, cleaning and disinfecting furniture and equipment, and cleaning windows.

3. Maintains equipment in good working condition through proper and routine preventive maintenance, and receives, stores and uses supplies in the appropriate manner.

4. Reports any equipment problems or safety issues to supervisor immediately.

5. Maintains effective infection control through proper cleaning and sanitizing and adherence to the infection control policies established in the facility.

6. Attends in-service training classes and staff meetings as required.

7. Displays a concerned and professional attitude in all contacts with residents, visitors and fellow employees.

8. Maintains all data information on chemicals t
