Chesterfield County is Hiring a Building Code Inspector Near Chesterfield, SC

Office: Code Enforcement
Salary: Commensurate with Experience and Qualifications
Under occasional supervision, inspects new and existing commercial and residential projects to ensure compliance with all building, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical, fire and zoning codes and all related County Ordinances. Candidate assists Building Codes Director and participates in on the job building inspection training. Must have the ability to communicate technical advice and work with the general public and contractors concerning zoning regulations. Candidate must have working knowledge of office equipment including computer skills for adding data in computer of inspection results. Minimum Requirements: Must obtain ICC certification as a Certified Building Official within 60 days of the issuance of the provisional registration. The second certification shall be completed within 12 months of the issuance of the provisional certification. Any other remaining prerequisites must be obtained within 24 months of the issuance of the provisional registration in order to receive the Certified Building Official classification. Must have a valid state driver’s license Applications available on the County’s website, www.chesterfieldcountysc.com and in the Human Resource Office located in the Chesterfield County Administration Building, 178 Mill Street, Chesterfield, SC 29709.
