Chesterfield County, VA is Hiring a Senior Clinician - Adult Drug Court (re-ad 24-00869; 24-00634; 24-00534; 24-00376) Near Chesterfield, VA

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in a Human Services field (i.e., social work, counseling, etc.) and three years of professional experience within the Human Services field is required; or an equivalent of training and experience. Must be currently licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Virginia or be licensed within six months of hire. Experience reflecting provision of individual and group treatment services and trauma informed care. Experience using evidenced based practices including the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) Criteria preferred. Experience with individuals with co-occurring disorders, including long term mental illness preferred. Knowledge of Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) practices for substance use treatment preferred. Working knowledge of the Drug Court concept is strongly preferred. This position requires ethical, responsible, and proactive case management and the ability to use supervision and training to provide quality clinical intervention to individuals with substance use disorders. It requires the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, excellent case management and documentation skills, thorough knowledge of treatment theories, best practice initiatives, therapeutic techniques, and the nature of substance use in consumers. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check, and education/degree verification required.

Duties

The Adult Drug Court Program is an intensive outpatient jail diversion treatment program for individuals identified as meeting criteria for a substance use diagnosis who are involved in the criminal justice system. The program is a collaborative team between Chesterfield Mental Health Support Services, Chesterfield Community Corrections, the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, the public defender’s office, and the judiciary. The primary function of the Senior Clinician position is to provide integrated behavioral health services to individuals served and their support system, including evaluation and assessment of needs, treatment planning, outpatient individual and group therapy, psychoeducation, and care coordination. This position is responsible for weekly progress reports to the court and regular court appearances. The selected candidate must be willing to work on a team that includes probation officers and in a jail diversion program that is accountable to the court system, which can involve sanctions for program violations that require jail time to be served.
