SUMMARY OF POSITION: Perform all responsibilities necessary to work with families, staff and community members to obtain Medical Assistance (MA), Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS) and access related resources. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for phone communication, develop/maintain computer database, record keeping, shared electronic filing, resource development, supporting staff/parents through processes and trainings.
Communicate with parents, IU staff concerning students, CCIU MA Access department, MA representatives, insurance companies, CCRES, Home & Community, IBHS providers, and all others needed to complete IBHS application process.
Manage database of student records, excel spreadsheets, outlook, electronic calendars.
Prepare and send letters, complete applications, respond promptly to denials for services, provide frequent updates to parents, MA/IBHS providers, provide feedback and problem solve to complete tasks associated with process to obtain IBHS.
Assist parents to schedule intake, evaluations for psychologists and physicians; accessing MA and IBHS providers, scheduling meetings with IU staff and parents.
Follow-up with parents, service providers, CCIU staff, and all others related to MA/IBHS process.
Call, email, zoom, and in-person meet with IBHS providers, PSE, Head Start and parents.
Attend and provide trainings on the process, funding and benefits of IBHS.
Research and determine additional source of funding for IBHS.
ESSENTIAL JOB SKILLS:
Ability to effectively communicate with parents, staff and community members through written, verbal, virtually and in-person.
Well organized, on-task, able to keep timelines and maintain data systems.
Takes initiate, goal oriented and detail oriented
Reaching and assisting parents with solving problems related to access to obtain resources.
Qualifications:
High school diploma required
Experience with excel software, in special education services, data entry, professionally communicating with adults, MA and IBHS processes.
